Two Down Two, Two To Go!

I just finished this towel a few days ago. It's yet another fun pattern from the Stitch-It Kit from Sublime Stitching. I have two more towels to finish! I don't really like coffee so it will probably end up being a Christmas gift. I'm feeling sort of bad for my friends and family because they are all getting something handmade this year.
I don't really like the way my pictures are turning out. I don't feel like I'm getting enough details...except the wrinkles seem to stand out just fine. Any advise? I even ironed.

Yeah! So adorable! I, too have had many issues with wrinkly towels - and I know we ar using the same towels. I have trouble getting the embroidery hoop indentations out. In the past the only thing that has seemed to work is to wash them. This usually gets out the major creases - allthough they may still turn out wrinkly.

And, by the way, I think anyone would be lucky to receive a handmade gift - from you or anyone for that matter. I wish our culture better appreciated the time, thought, and attention that goes into a handmade gift. Obviously, I've had my own qualms with this problem...

I think that towel looks awesome, and I second Kimmie's comment that anyone would be totally lucky to get a handmade present from you. I give away almost everything that I make... after a while people get used to it, and usually after the first thing, you can't get them to stop asking for more. :)

As for the pictures, I always take tons more pictures than I actually post (gotta love the digital camera) and then pick the ones I liked the best. I still don't take marvy pictures... but I think I'm getting a little better. Keep at it!

I can't believe that my baby girl has become so domesticated. Knitting, needle work. What next??? I think the towels are great and handmade gifts are a gift from the heart. It is easy to buy a gift card, but something created by someone special is the thing that family heirlooms are made of. Love you!!!MOM

One more thing, spritz the towels with a mixture of vinegar and water and press. Back in the day when Nanny would make us take the hem out of our dresses because they were to short, we would do this to press out the line where the fold of the hem was. The vinegar smell goes away. Love again. MOM
