Gillian Welch

She randomly took the stage at this bar we were drinking. Shocked and thinking about driving through Georgia wondering what I could listen to that my mom wouldn't hate so I Gillian on and mom sang along and it's one of my favorite memories ever despite the fact that we were driving to my grandmothers funeral. Also, I want a denim jump suit.

Oh Nashville!

Ugh...Progress?

I think I'm hating it but I'm running out of time. After painting such small pieces for so long, I forgot how long it takes to paint more then 4x6 inches!

4x6 Paintings

I've missed my 4x6 paintings! One of my favorite Fabricate customers commissioned me to do these paintings of her family for her. It's hard to tell what someone looks like from a photograph. I feel like people have so many sides and faces that can look so different from day to day. What someone looks like to me seems like it can be very different from someone else. I used to do a lot of self-portraits because I was just looking in the mirror to see if I was still there, but now I'm still just trying to figure out what I look like. It's an interesting challenge to try to capture what someone else looks like to their mother, wife, daughter. I hope I didn't mess up the image in her mind too much.

My Days Are Numbered

It's starting to cool down and my days of watering the garden while I snack on cherry tomatoes are fading away.
