Self-Portrait #98
' Walmart parking lot. I'm just telling myself that someone rode this tiny bike here. Really that's the only logical explanation. I hate Walmart by the way but I was getting desperate for Wii Fit. They didn't have it so I bought a milkshake instead.
Friday Night Recap
These cute and very cozy looking guys were made by Lori Brown. I came home and looked up her website The Morninglori Vine. I really like her work and she's from Cincinnati!
After checking out some other gallery shows I went to a friend's house warming party and their place was pretty cool. First there was this coffee table center piece that made me laugh. Yes, those are green M&M's.
The best part of the apartment was the floor. It has lights. It's cool.
Finally, my first asian lily bloom of the year. I love them.

Self-Portrait #97
I swear I'm happier to be here then I look. I'll update more info in
the morning. Update: So I've been reading the blog of and admiring the work of this fellow Cincinnati resident. She happened to have some work in a show downtown tonight and I finally got to meet her briefly. I tried to do a self-portrait with her work in the background but it was hard to get a good shot and I felt silly doing it with so many people around. SO I ended up with this unhappy looking picture and all you can see of her work is a bunny butt. Damn it. The good news is that I'm planning on going to a craft/art night that she will be at tonight and she is bringing a print for me to purchase which I am very excited about and will show you tomorrow.

That's Right....
...the geese totally got new outfits! You may remember their outfits from last season. This is so exciting to me. I hope it's a monthly thing. The baby goose is left out though...maybe I can make them a little present and leave it on their door step for the young lad.

Self-Portrait #94
I've been meaning to make a little set up for taking pictures for my drawings, but that is just another thing on my project to do list. It seems that it's always dark outside when I'm wanting to take a picture of something and the lighting in my little room is terrible. I gave up on trying to get a good picture of this drawing and decided to show you the pitiful expression that inspired it instead. It sums up my feelings about today pretty well. I did manage to get an okay close up but the coloring is off and there's a glare. I do love using my brush pens though.
One of my goals for the year was to make 100 4x6 drawings/paintings. This is #20. The year is slipping away from me! I did not plan very well. I need to make two a week in order to meet my goal. I need my four blog readers to hold me to that.

Self-Portrait #93
I couldn't bring myself to take another picture of myself so I sat down tonight to put down an image that's been popping into my head for a while. I have to say it looked better in my mind, but this is just the preliminary sketch of the saddest attempt at drawing ice.
The only thing that I do like is the face minus the badly drawn hair. This is what I get for neglecting my hands so. I do love do draw with watercolor pencils though. They are like butter(actually pronounced like "butta").

Self-Portrait #92
My bottom teeth are really crooked. It looks like that one tooth is
trying to jump out! I'm the youngest and I think my parents ran out
of money by the time it was my turn for braces. I can't believe I've
made it through 92 self-portraits. This week I'm going to try and do
a few more hand made portraits. I've been so busy that I've been
abusing my camera privileges lately plus the weather here this weekend
has been so great that I've been doing lots of outdoor projects.

Taking a break from my flowers. I went a little crazy today buying
$100 worth.. I think it was worth it though. This is my favorite
time of year.

Self-Portrait #90
This has been a long work week that is finally over. I'm needing this
long weekend soooooooooooo much! I also should mention that I'm
loving my new computer. The built-in camera is proving very useful
for this self-portrait project but it's time to mix it up this
weekend. I'm as tired of my face as I'm sure my four readers are.

Self-Portrait #88
I just returned from a walk and I couldn't bring myself to go inside
so I brought my new obsession (my computer) outside to soak in a few
more minutes of blue sky. My left eye looks a little loose in this
picture...weird.

Self-Portrait #87
I apologize for the terrible picture...I'm too tired to go into the other room and get my camera, take a picture, and dig out the cord.
This color isn't usually in my color palette, my wardrobe or my life in general but I was rummaging through some paint and I found this tube left over from a baby room that I painted for a lady while I was in college. I was hard up for money at the time and I often wonder if I scared that poor kids childhood by my uneven, pastel border. I had quite a day today so I thought it would improve my mood to draw. It didn't work but I did create a very calm little teenage looking version of myself to remind me to calm down and be happy. I've been working on my new computer which involves sorting through hundreds of MP3s and getting them organized. I came across Radiohead's The Bends which totally takes me back to my rebellious teenage years. Sorry again mom. Hehe.

My new computer!!!! Oh the things I will do! One of my goals for the year was to buy a new computer. Ben's new purchase was making me jealous and a little lonely because he's glued to it so I decided it was time to spend my rebate check...even thought it hasn't arrived yet. Details, details.

Self-Portrait #82
Letting the ear drops soak in. I had a lot of ear aches when I was a
kid. I could put my big toe in a pool without getting an ear
infection. My mom would spend long nights with me on the couch when
the pain kept me awake all night. I think sometimes I drew the
sickness out a little longer then needed just to have that time with
her.

This Band Does Not Suck
Bad Veins plays with a lot of bands that aren't that good. This band,
Karate Coyote, isn't one of those. The polo shirts even like it.
Everyone is happy.

Dark college bar at OU. There's a frightening amount of cargo shorts,
polo shirts, white people, and hair gel in this room. Yikes.

Home
Our hotel is nicer then our house and one night is more expensive the
our monthly morgage. Good thing we aren't paying for it.
