Yarn @ Fabricate!!!
Pretty excited!!! Thanks to Tonia from Knitted to a T! She took time away from her family today to drive over from Indiana and deliver the goods! Once my sewing obsession dies down, I'll be bringing some of this yarn home with me.

Crafty Supermarket April 17th!
The next Crafty Supermarket date has been announced! April 17th Crafty Supermarket moves to the Clifton Cultural Arts Center to allow for more vendors! Applications for vendors are available on the blog. Local and out-of-town indie crafters are welcome to apply. Grace and Alisha did an awesome job last year and had over 1,000 shoppers in attendance. This year I've joined the team to help them out!!! I'm super excited to be a part of such a cool event with two really cool crafters! Become a fan on facebook and help spread the word. More to come.

10 for 2010
It's taken me a few weeks to get my goals posted for the year together but I think I'm ready. Here we go:
1. Blog more often: HA! Funny that it took me this long to post my goals...hopefully I improve on this one.
2. Take a quilting class
3. Illustrate a children's book but first I need a writer.
4. Schedule my next show and start a new series
5. Remodel the kitchen
6. Sew more! I really want to just make more things in general aside from painting.
7. Start a savings account.
8. Work towards my 9 year plan to pay off all of my debt.
9. Read more books.
10. Cook and eat at home more....yikes.
So there are a few items that I didn't get to on my list from last year but I'm just going to leave them off and hope that I accomplish those too. Bonus goals. I also have a bunch of goals for Fabricate too but I'm leaving those out of this list. Ok. That's it for now, I'm off to get to work!

Year in Music
I love this video!!!!! Can't get enough of his grandma dancing. I don't quite feel finished with reflecting on 2009 so I decided to make a list of my favorite albums/artists of the year. Most of these came out in 2009 or late 2008 and I was late to get on the boat. I think this year passed by so quickly, maybe the fastest year that I can recall. I'm trying to make sure I have it documented or something so here's what's been in my ears this year in no particular order.
1. Karen O and the Kids- The soundtrack for Where the Wild Things Are. I've mentioned this before while finishing my 4x6x100 series. If I had made my top 25 albums list today it would be on it. For sure.
2. Love Like Fire- Bad Veins toured with them for a bit this year while I was along for the trip. Their album, Tear Ourselves Away, isn't out in the US but it should be!!! I love Ann's voice so much and to top it all off, they are the nicest band you'll ever meet. This album hasn't left my car stereo since I got back in September. Not kidding. I sing William, the first song on the album, very loudly while driving.
3. Calvin Harris: His new album, Ready for the Weekend, has one of the happiest songs on it called The Rain. Every time I DJ it is sure to get played.
4. Regina Spektor: Far was a nice addition to her discography. I don't think it's really one of the best albums as a whole but the song Laughing With is such a cheesy yet great song that it elevates the whole album for me.
5. Phoenix: Wolfgang Amadeus is another album that I still can't get enough of. I've always loved this band but and it's so great when a band that you love keeps getting better which brings me to my next favorite of the year...
6. Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Yes, Karen O is on my list twice. That's how good she is. It's Blitz was worth it's money with bonus acoustic tracks that are so personal for a girl that seems so tough. The acoustic version of Skeletons is too much for me to handle sometimes.
7. Empire of the Sun: Walking on a Dream is the title track but my favorite song is Half Mast. This album came out at the end of 2008 but I didn't get it until this year.
8. Pomplamoose: From what I can tell this band isn't signed and you can buy their album directly from their myspace page...which I have not done. What I have done is watch all of their videos on youtube. The one above is my favorite! They have some great covers. I need to do more research, you should too.
9. Tristen: I bought her EP Deceivers are Achievers at a show that she played with my friends You, You're Awesome. I went outside to get away from the noise not expecting to be impressed by the first or second band and when I came back in she was playing. Before I knew it I went from standing in the back of the Southgate House to standing right in front. When she was done I made my friend Matt loan me some cash to buy her EP. I still haven't paid him back. Today is his birthday. Happy Birthday.
10. David Byrne and Brian Eno: Everything That Happens Will Happen Today has played in my house off and on all year. It came out late 2008 as well but I couldn't leave it off of this list. If I had to pick one soundtrack to my year it would probably be this album. There are so many good songs on this record. Get it. Sing along. One of my favorite songs called Life is Long says, "I can barely see cause my head is in the way."
